Our Toy Story: The creation of Zookeeperz®
One night, my husband and I bravely ventured out of the house with our baby boy in hopes of having a nice dinner and quality time together. It didn’t take more than five minutes of sitting down at the table for our son to throw each and every toy or teether from the diaper bag on the floor, rendering them full of germs and useless.
The panic set in when we had the sudden realization that we had at least another hour before we’d be done with our dinner and our son had no toys to play with. After trying to entertain him with his reflection in the spoon rather than feeding myself, we were determined to not let this happen again.
We were going to buy something to secure our son’s toys so we could enjoy dinner with each other while keeping our son entertained. Wherever we went we wanted to make sure he could play with his toys and we wouldn’t have to worry about him throwing them on the ground.​
The next day, I drove from the baby store to the toy store looking for what we had envisioned as a product to keep all of us happy when venturing out together. I spent hours trying to find the one item that would stop my son’s rattles and toys and sippy cups from falling on the ground. I was surprised to discover that none of the products already on the market held multiple babies, toddlers, or children’s toys secured and safe. That was the moment when the Zookeeperz® idea began to grow, a plush toy for infants and preschoolers.
My husband and I devised a product that would help parents keep their children free from germs while being entertained.
Zookeeperz® is a plush toy for infants and preschoolers that gives babies, toddlers, and children endless possibilities to play with their rattles and toys. Zookeeperz® can also hold pacifiers, teethers, bottles, and sippy cups. It can be attached to a tabletop, car seat, high chair, pack and play, stroller, car window, anywhere! It can be attached with a clamp, a suction cup, and the Velcro straps that can either function as attachment means to a surface or to hold toys.
Zookeeperz® has been tested and certified by the Standard Consumer Safety Specifications for Toy Safety (ASTM F963-17). Zookeeperz® must have passed the testing by a third-party laboratory in order to be sold in the United States of America.
